On the evening of January 16th, our local fire district gave a very informative presentation at the FSML Clubhouse. Unfortunately, the attendance was low, likely due to the falling snow. However, those who did attend found much of the information presented to be new and enlightening. Here are a few key points from the presentation: All fire district residents vote on the fire budget each year. Last year, only 150 votes were cast. Just two votes defeated the budget. As a result, the township reduced our district's budget by $250,000. Our district's firefighters are composed of paid personnel and volunteers. This year's budget will be voted on in February 2025. These are just a few of the many important facts shared during presentation. Since we believe the entire presentation could be valuable to a larger audience, we have scheduled another session for Thursday, January 30th, at 1 PM in the Clubhouse Ballroom. We hope that as many residents as possible will attend this newly scheduled presentation by our fire district staff. |
