| Description: | Celebrate an afternoon of insight, inspiration, and good company as Will Hammerstein shares the remarkable story of his grandfather, Oscar Hammerstein II — one of the greatest lyricists and librettists in American musical theatre history. In collaboration with composer Richard Rodgers, Hammerstein created some of Broadway’s most beloved classics, including Oklahoma, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, and The Sound of Music. During this fascinating program, he will take us on a journey through Oscar’s life - from his birth into a theatrical family in 1895, through the triumphs and challenges of his storied career, to his enduring legacy following his passing in 1960. To cap off this special afternoon, a lovely surprise may await our guests! Get ready for a day of learning, storytelling, and a tasty lunch.
