On Saturday, August 11, 2018, a talented group of 10 Israeli teenagers (five males and five females - sixteen to eighteen years old) and 2 adult leaders will visit our community and stay overnight with residents who have volunteered to host them. They will arrive about 1:00 at which time they will be greeted by their Shalom Club hosts. The hosts will take them to their homes for a light lunch and show them their accommodations for their overnight stay.

After lunch they will go to the clubhouse ballroom where they will set up their equipment for their musical show at night. It will take them about an hour to set up for the show, after which they may go swimming, play bocce, or just mix with our residents and tell us about their life in Israel and answer any questions posed to them.

At 5:00 the Shalom Club will cater a meal in the clubhouse for our guests. After the meal the scouts will prepare and rehearse for their 7:30 show. The show which will last about an hour will be followed by a question and answer period. Following that, ice cream will be served and there will then be more opportunities to mingle with our guests.

The Caravan visiting us is one of three touring the United States. The cost to pay for all their expenses is borne by the communities that host them. All together it will cost the Shalom Club about $2000 for this event. Therefore, we will be charging $14 per person to attend their performance on Saturday night. If you wish to attend this event, and we encourage you to do so, place your checks, made out to FSML, in the Shalom drawer by Thursday, August 2, 2018 (an earlier deposit would be appreciated).  We hope that we will have a large turnout for this unique event so that we could make a lasting positive impression on our guests.
