BRANDEIS NATIONAL COMMITTEE/HARMONY CHAPTER

Join us on May 6th for a return visit to Mandir, the (BAPS) temple. When construction is finished in 2020, it will be the world's largest Hindu temple and it is located in Robbinsville, NJ. The New Jersey structure is made of Italian marble -- more than 13,000 stones' worth, according to BAPS -- which traveled first from Italy to India where it received traditional carvings from 2,000 artisans in Rajasthan before making the journey to New Jersey. The finished pieces were then assembled in New Jersey by a team of master craftsmen.

We will tour this amazing temple and learn about the BAPS culture and religion. The tour will consist of a short video showing how the Mandir was constructed, a tour of the Mandir , an Observance of the Mid Day worship Service/ Aarti and a brief Q and A session . You will be then able to visit their food court and/or gift shop. Lunch will be on your own.

It has been three years since we last toured the temple and we are looking forward to seeing all of the new additions to the complex. Whether this will be your first time or a revisit, we promise you will be transported into an unbelievable cultural experience a short trip from home.

Date: Tuesday, May 6th. Travel will be on your own by car. Directions will follow.

Time: The tour begins at 10:30 am and will last about 1 1/2 hours.

Cost: $8.00 Any amount over $3.00 (Fair Market Value) is a charitable contribution to Brandeis National Committee’s Magnify the Mind Campaign in support of faculty research in neurodegenerative disorders.

Sign up is March 9th - March 16th . Checks should be made out to Brandeis University and put in the Brandeis box in the Clubhouse. Please put the word Mandir on the memo line of a check and envelope.
