The Shalom Club breakfast will feature an illustrated lecture by Historian Marty Schneit. His topic is titled "Jewish New York," and he details how Jewish America started in New York. Marty will talk about the Jews of Brighton Beach, Temple Emanuel, the Brownsville Girls, Shearith Israel, the Andrew Freedman House, Eldridge Street Synagogue, Rebbe Schneerson, Zabars, Washington Heights, the egg cream, and Henny Youngman.
The breakfast will include bagels, butter, jelly, and a selection of three different types of cream cheese: plain, lox, and vegetable. Coffee will also be served. The cost for this event is $6.00 per person. If you wish to reserve a table, or part of a table, submit the official table form in an envelope with all of the checks (made out to FSML Shalom Club) on May 8th or 9th. One, two, three, or four members who wish to attend do not have to submit a table form. After May 9th acceptance will be on a first come, first serve basis. If we are oversold on May 9th, a management supervised lottery will be held.
