Suggested DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE OCEAN COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, 26 HADLEY AVENUE, TOMS RIVER, NJ

the drive is approximately 40 minutes

Take Jackson Mills Road south to the end (approx. 2.5 miles)

Make a left onto Cedar Swamp Road (route 527 ) The name changes to East Veterans Highway when you cross over Bennetts Mills Road/W. Veterans Highway)

Drive approx. 4 miles and turn right at the light onto Whitesville Road (this is a continuation of 527)

Drive approx. 7 miles and use the two left lanes to turn left onto route 571/Ridgeway Rd./Whitesville Rd).  Continue to follow route 571 for approx. 1.1 mile and make a right onto US 9 South/Lakewood Rd. You will see signs for NJ 166 S/Toms River/Seaside Heights)

Use right lane to take US 9 S/Garden State Pkwy Ramp towards Atlantic City

Then merge onto US 9 South.

Drive approx. 1.6 miles and take exit 82 to merge onto route 37 E. toward Seaside Heights  (DO NOT TAKE EXIT 82A)

GO APPROX. 1.2 MILES on route 37.  STAY IN YOUR RIGHT AND BEAR RIGHT ONTO HOOPER AVENUE AT PERKINS PANCAKE HOUSE (before the traffic light)

Travel approx. 1/3 of a mile, staying in the left, and turn left at traffic light onto Hadley Avenue  THIS IS A LITTLE TRICKY. THERE IS A FORK AT THE TURN & THE SIGN FOR HADLEY IS PARTIALLY OBSCURED BY THE TRAFFIC LIGHT.

Drive approx. ½ mile on Hadley. The Historical Society will be on your right., # 26 Hadley Avenue.  It is an attractive green Victorian house on the corner. Turn right, directly before the house, for the driveway entrance to the parking lot on your left. (I don’t know the name of this street)

Parking is available in their parking lot. If the lot is full, there is a parking garage across the street from their parking lot.
