BROOKLYN CLUB MOVIE NIGHT
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2019
NOW WELCOMING ALL RESIDENTS, FRIENDS, AND FAMILY
C'mon over. The Metedeconk Brooklyn Club will be showing an award-winning documentary about growing up in Brooklyn in the late 50's and 60's.
The Boys of 2nd Street Park is a movie about a generation's look at life, loss, and love. The New York Times quipped that, "No matter where you are from, The Boys of 2nd Street Park is a wonderful journey home, both poignant and profound." They were quite right as this film became an official selection of the Sun Dance Film Festival.
Taking place in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, it portrayed the 60's as a time of sex, drugs, the Vietnam war, free love, and rock & roll.
A generation of boys came of age during this decade. These are the stories of one group of boys.
The Boys of 2nd Street is a story of pain and joy, success and loss, struggles and triumphs, unforgettable lives, unforgettable people. You won't want to miss this great movie.
We will have a short discussion afterward with, of course, snacks and ice cream.
