Join us for a fascinating program that explores the vibrant Kalmyk community in
Howell, NJ. Discover the unique heritage of this tiny ethnic group with roots tracing
back to Mongolia and Genghis Khan and learn how their traditions have flourished in
Howell. We will visit two local Buddhist temples - Rashi Gempil Ling, the first Kalmyk
Buddhist temple in the USA, and the beautiful Nissan Temple. This is a wonderful
opportunity to connect with history, culture, and spiritual practice right in our
neighborhood. Transportation is on your own. Spouses and significant others are
welcome.
Note: Shoes are to be removed when entering the temples so you may want to bring
socks.
