bringing almost 90 shows to the Broadway stage during his reign of nearly 60 years.
Though his reputation for being mean-spirited and demanding often preceded him, he
was better known for his standing as a master of outrageous publicity stunts which
remain legendary to this day. Using an animated medley of photos, news items, and
video clips, speaker Jonathan Broder highlights the incredible career, peculiar
personality, and memorable hijinks of this one-of-a-kind Broadway luminary. Spouses

Hand and Foot is a fun rummy card game related to Canasta and super easy to
learn. It can be described as a simpler, easier version of Canasta. Hand and Foot
uses about 5 or 6 decks of standard playing cards and is played with 2-6 players.
Hand and Foot does not have standard rules and is also played with variations of
house rules. This means that even once you get familiar with this game, there are
many ways to spice it up so that you never get bored of it! In this introduction, a
typical version of the game will be taught so you can play anywhere! Some variations will also be shared.
Are you ready to learn this awesome card game? Your instructor, Patti Homsey, is addicted to the game
and would love to spread the love. A reference card you can keep will be provided. Feel free to bring 6
decks of pre-shuffled cards but playing cards will be available to borrow for the class.

Austrian artist Gustav Klimt is renowned for the shimmering, gilded masterpieces he created
during his celebrated Golden Period. These works are characterized by their lavish use of
gold leaf and intricate decorative patterns, reflecting Klimt’s distinctive style and artistic
innovation. Artist and educator Arlene Smelson will guide us through an insightful
multimedia presentation that delves into Klimt’s life and creative journey during this
fascinating era. Following the presentation, Arlene will lead participants in creating their own
dazzling artwork on gold scratch board. This hands-on activity is designed to immerse us in
the artistic process and allow for personal expression inspired by Klimt’s approach. As part of our creative
experience, we will venture into the calming world of Zen tangles—a meditative drawing technique known
for fostering relaxation and mindfulness. Best of all, Zen tangles is a practice that anyone can enjoy,
regardless of prior experience. Please bring a pair of scissors. Spouses and significant others are welcome.
