The History Club at FSML will be restarting our popular in- person programs on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. (1 pm in the Sports Lounge ) To pay tribute to the upcoming Olympic Games, scheduled to take place in Tokyo this summer, we have selected as our first post Covid program the biopic film " Race ". Our moderator will be Larry Rosendorf.
"Race" is the remarkable story of Jesse Owens and his quest to become the greatest track and field star in history, as he takes the world stage in the 1936 Olympics held in Berlin ( Nazi Germany ) against the backdrop of Hitler's vision of Aryan supremacy.
Join us to watch , and then discuss the film, as well as other stories of the 1936 Olympics and the upcoming Tokyo Games. Also; hear about plans for our other upcoming History Club programs and trips. As always , the History Club is free of charge and open to all of FSML.

We will be holding a summer food collection for the Jackson Food Pantry. Please mark your calendars!!!
JULY 17, SATURDAY 9am to 11am , and will be near the gazebo in the Clubhouse parking lot.
The items for this collection are as follows:
FOOD ITEMS: Can or jars red pasta sauce; box/packaged dry pasta (spaghetti, ziti, etc); “a lot of” box/packaged Mac n Cheese for kids; can fruits-peaches, mixed or fruit cups; mustard/ketchup/mayo; salad dressings (ranch/Italian); Jello cups,
Juice packs-flavors/apple or large bottles; Single bottled water-24 packs etc; boxed Cereals (kids); package/can tuna or chicken; a “lot of” peanut butter n jelly; rice mixes and rice packages/bags.
PERSONAL CARE ITEMS: (really needed):
tooth brushes and toothpaste (kids/adults); Bar soap packs or individual; 4 pack toilet paper rolls ONLY, (DO NOT separate); women's sanitary needs (pads); deodorant (women/men).
NOTE: DO NOT Separate any Packaged Products or can’t be given out.
Important: All food items MUST BE non perishable, new, unopened items that have not expired.
PLASTIC BAGS are also being collected and are much needed to bag food at pantry. Please also deliver to Vickie when you have a quantity, (Please Call or email first, Do Not leave bags on porch without contacting me. Much appreciated)
If you have any questions, can’t make the drop off, or need to drop off food donations “sooner”, please contact Vickie Vitale at 732-252-6862 or email vvitale@optonline.net.
NOTE: if you would like to make a monetary donation (in the form of checks, money, gift cards) to the Food Pantry, please personally drop off to the Jackson Food Pantry on Don Connor Blvd at Public Works Bldg on Saturday mornings from 10-12n. (Checks Made out to the Jackson Women of Today, Food Pantry.)
PLEASE REMEMBER to pick up a few extra items as you grocery shop! Every donation counts in order to keep the Jackson Food Pantry operating and feeding 100+families and seniors in the Jackson community.

“ Old time Radio COMEDY favorites’. Portions of actual broadcasts of The Eddie Cantor Show, The Great Gildersleeve, Amos and Andy, The Life of Riley and others will bring back memories of when we would gather around a box, with family and friends , and listen and be taken to new worlds.
Come to either program or both and relive the excitement of RADIO Broadcasts from days ago.
Larry Rosendorf will provide some background before each session and leave time for participants to share some of their favorite memories .

BNC will be having the annual collection for new school supplies to be donated to the Ocean South Office of Child Protection and Permanency.With education returning to the classroom, the students are in need of all supplies from backpacks to notebooks to pens. The collection will run from July 11 through August 8. There will be a collection box in the clubhouse lobby and one in front of my home at 72 Gables Way. The sales of supplies will start shortly in our local stores like Shop Rite, Staples and Target
