July 5, 2022, Tues Eve at 730PM , on the patio overlooking the pool, we will be watching and discussing several Oscar winning short films. (we will watch and discuss 2 or 3 films, each less than 30 minutes total. )
Short films represent a significant opportunity for the video storyteller, and are a challenging medium for film.
There is no charge for attending. Bring your own seating or use the chairs on the patio.

On Sunday, July 10th, the Brooklyn Club will be presenting two
videos of the most acclaimed places to visit in Brooklyn -- Coney
Island and (believe it or not) the Green-Wood Cemetery.
Who remembers the Coney Island of 40 years ago. People
nowadays are nostalgic for the Coney Island they knew growing up.
In the movie, you will see the evolution over several major historical
periods from 1870 to today.
Green-Wood is a living cemetery that brings people closer to the
world as it is and as it was by memorializing the dead and bringing to
life the art, history, and natural beauty of New York City. Founded
in 1838 and now a national historic landmark, Green-Wood Cemetery
helped inspire the creation of public parks including NYC's Central
Park and Prospect Park.
Today, Coney Island and Green-Wood Cemetery are the two
biggest tourist attractions in Brooklyn. Among our many trips to
visit our homeland, the Brooklyn Club had the pleasure of visiting
both of these sites (not to mention the trip that included walking
the Brooklyn Bridge.)
At our in-house meeting on July 10th, we will be able to "visit"
these two remarkable sites via video.
