Saturday, September 1st, 2018, All Day Event at Offsite
We play softball games on Saturday mornings against players from other adult communities. These are on a nearby Ocean County or Freehold field. Since we had funds left over last year due to the many rain outs, so dues are only $15 this year for the entire season to cover balls, bats, etc.
Players do have to provide their own gloves.
We start playing on April 21st.
Players of all skills are welcome. We have a lot of fun. Our season usually runs from late April through September, depending on the weather.

Harmony Chapter, Brandeis National Committee, will be collecting soft cover paperback books to forward to our servicemen and women on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M., at the gazebo in the parking lot.
OPERATION PAPERBACK is a non-profit organization that collects gently used books nationwide and sends them to troops overseas, as well as veterans and military families here at home.
Troops are told that our boxes include a variety of good quality fiction and non-fiction books.Please select only books that are in good condition. Troops enjoy current and classic fiction, spy novels, thrillers, crime stories, travel, biographies, science fiction, etc. NO ROMANCE NOVELS PLEASE.

Speaker: Steve Kornacki, MSNBC
Steve will talk about the mid-term national elections and the gubernatorial elections this coming November. He will discuss the issues related to these elections and the results projected for them. He will also describe the impact of those results on the national and local political environments.
Steve Kornacki attended Boston University. He started his journalism career as a reporter for PoliticsNJ.com, a New Jersey political news site owned by David Wildstein, where he worked from 2002-06. After that, he co-hosted a political news series at News 12 New Jersey and reported on the U.S. Congress for the newspaper Roll Call.
He joined the writing staff of Salon.com in 2010. He co-hosted The Cycle on MSNBC with political strategist Krystal Ball, pop-culture commentator Touré Neblett, and conservative columnist S.E. Cupp from the program's inception through March 20, 2013. On March 19, 2013, it was announced that Kornacki would take over another MSNBC program, Up, airing Saturdays and Sundays from 8 to 10 a.m., starting in April. Beginning in 2016, Kornacki hosted a daily program from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and frequently guest hosts on Hardball with Chris Matthews, All In with Chris Hayes and The Rachel Maddow Show.
In May 2017, Kornacki transitioned away from anchor duties at MSNBC and toward more franchise reporting for NBC News. On May 8, 2017, he was named National Political Correspondent for NBC News Group.

Travel approx. 1/3 of a mile, staying in the left, and turn left at traffic light onto Hadley Avenue THIS IS A LITTLE TRICKY. THERE IS A FORK AT THE TURN & THE SIGN FOR HADLEY IS PARTIALLY OBSCURED BY THE TRAFFIC LIGHT.
Drive approx. ½ mile on Hadley. The Historical Society will be on your right., # 26 Hadley Avenue. It is an attractive green Victorian house on the corner. Turn right, directly before the house, for the driveway entrance to the parking lot on your left. (I don’t know the name of this street)

Pneumonia and Flu shots are being offered to the residents of Four Seasons at Metedeconk Lakes.
The shots will be offered by Walgreens on Monday, October 15, 2018 in the Ballroom, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The cost of the shots are solely the financial responsibility of the resident, not the HOA.
In order to offer this service to the community, a minimum of 25 residents are needed to participate.

Shalom Club - Break the Fast

THE ANNUAL "BREAK THE FAST" MEAL WILL TAKE PLACE ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2018 AT 7:15 IN THE BALLROOM.
This event will be catered by Bagel Run. The food will be served at the tables, and the meal will consist of egg, tuna, and whitefish salads plus herring in cream sauce, Nova lox, and cream cheese. Additional items such as tomatoes, onions, butter, and a variety of bagels are also included. Coffee, tea, juices, and pastries will be available.
The cost for this event is $18 per person. If you wish to attend, place your check (FSML) in the Shalom drawer no later than September 11, 2018. Each resident couple, or single resident, may bring up to two non-resident adult guests at a cost of $18 pp.
Attendees who wish to be seated at the same table should place all checks in the same envelope along with an official completed table seating form. There is a maximum of ten people at a table. Attendees who are not forming a full or partial table will be assigned to a table.

WINE CLUB
The first Wine Tasting of our new Club year will be THURSDAY, September 20th in the Clubhouse Ballroom. We will be featuring wines from Portugal, and Committee Members Joyce DeSiena and Pat Hybbeneth were the wine selectors for the 4 White Wines, 4 Red Wines and the Porto we will sample on the 20th. Our speaker for the evening, Eric Lopez, from the Winebow Group, will be on hand to discuss the various wines and give us some insider info on the vineyards. The wines we will be tasting are all from grapes indigenous to Portugal and not typically found elsewhere. You will find them wonderfully enjoyable! They range in price from $8.99 per bottle to $21.99 per bottle. We will also have the typical assortment of nibbles for your tasting pleasure.
The cost for this tasting will be $20 per person, and we will follow our "standard" set-up. Tables will be arranged for 8 places each and there is NO assigned seating, so you are free to "mix and mingle" with other members as you wish. Please do remember to bring your wine glasses with you for this tasting. Wine tastes so much better in a glass than a plastic cup! First year members - you will receive your glasses at the first tasting you attend, so please be sure to have the means to take them home with you - they are breakable! Please plan to enter from the Lobby through the Veranda to pickup your name badges and raffle ticket before entering the Ballroom. Doors open at 6:45PM.
Please make your checks payable to FSML - Wine Club with the notation "September Tasting" in the memo line. Place them in the Wine Club Lockbox #27 in the Clubhouse Lobby no later than Friday the 14th please. This ensures we have enough seating for everyone and enough of our "tasty morsels" prepared and available for all present.

FSML SATURDAY SOFTBALL
Saturday, September 22nd, 2018, All Day Event at Offsite
We play softball games on Saturday mornings against players from other adult communities. These are on a nearby Ocean County or Freehold field. Since we had funds left over last year due to the many rain outs, so dues are only $15 this year for the entire season to cover balls, bats, etc.
Players do have to provide their own gloves.
We start playing on April 21st.
Players of all skills are welcome. We have a lot of fun. Our season usually runs from late April through September, depending on the weather.
If you are interested in playing this year, please contact the Coordinator, Michael Nurko, ( 732-833-2438 or mick747@aol.com). Mike is also the team manager.
Please call or e-mail him even if you played last year. You can also leave a note with your phone number in the Softball mail box in our clubhouse lobby or leave a check made out to “Michael Nurko” with 'Saturday Softball” marked on the memo line. The sign up deadline is April 20th.

We play softball games on Saturday mornings against players from other adult communities. These are on a nearby Ocean County or Freehold field. Since we had funds left over last year due to the many rain outs, so dues are only $15 this year for the entire season to cover balls, bats, etc.
Players do have to provide their own gloves.
We start playing on April 21st.
Players of all skills are welcome. We have a lot of fun. Our season usually runs from late April through September, depending on the weather.

Please call or e-mail him even if you played last year. You can also leave a note with your phone number in the Softball mail box in our clubhouse lobby or leave a check made out to “Michael Nurko” with 'Saturday Softball” marked on the memo line. The sign up deadline is April 20th.
In addition, we are in need of another umpire. If you are interested, please contact Mike. No experience is necessary.

JayCee Driesen is an International powerhouse vocalist, songwriter and producer who entertains audiences nationally and abroad. She will be accompanied by a trio of musicians as she celebrates the music of Barbara Streisand, Adele, Shirley Bassey, Bette Midler, Carole King, Judy Garland, and many more. She will even surprise us with some songs appropriate for our Shalom Club. This past winter she appeared in numerous communities in Florida, where a
FSML Shalom Club member said she received a standing ovation at his community performing with recorded music.
As a songstress JayCee’s experienced harmonious, dreamy rhythmic sense of timing and tone (In other words, she has a great voice.) make her one of the most sought after vocalists on the scene. Whether it is an intimate cabaret performance or full scale concert venue, it is her pure finesse and distinction which places her in a class of her own.
With the lighting turned down, and tables throughout the ballroom floor, we should have a true nightclub experience. Each table will have snacks prior to the show, and deserts consisting of the huge cakes and pies from a local diner will be served along with coffee after the performance.
The cost to participate in this event is $20 per person. If you wish to attend, make out your check to FSML Shalom Club and place it in the Shalom drawer by August 19, 2018 (new date!). After that date, acceptance will be on a first come, first serve basis, and friends and family will be allowed to attend at $22 pp. Tables of 8, 10, and 12 will be accepted. Please use the official FSML table form! Individuals and smaller size tables will be combined to form tables of 10. If we are sold out before this date a management supervised lottery will be held.
